So far NK has done the following:
1. Given up hostages.
2. Blew up a mountainside while claiming to have stopped his nuclear test program.
3. Stopped sending missiles over Japan.
4. Stopped threatening the US.
5. Kim agreed to meet at a place of OUR choosing.
6. Signed an agreement to move toward peaceful relations.
Of course we have to wait and see if Kim will stick to any of this, but does this count as the "dramatic progress that will give liberals nightmares" that I mentioned earlier? Absofvckinglutely YES!
What's good for America is bad for Democrats. Now watcha gonna do?
1. they've given up hostages before. Remember they killed one just a few months ago.
2. They apparently had 1) an accident at their nuclear test site when a mountain became unsettled. and 2) made a show of blowing up other tunnels. No one knows what is going on. Most likely NK is just playing for time so they can rebuild.
3. Yes, they have ICBMs now. They don't need to test them anymore over Japan. Not a win. The reason they came to the table is that they have ICBMs and nuclear weapons. They had no reason to negotiate before. now they do, since they can negotiate as a nuclear power. Not a win.
4. Stopped threatening the US. Ok, whatever. They still see us as their #1 enemy and always will. Words.
5. Our choosing? Whatever. it's one of two or three possible places to have the summit. Mongolia, Sweden, DMZ and Singapore. this is not a win in any way.
6. Signed an agreement like they've signed before. But sure, great, I like diplomacy. Good deal.
