agreed.centro was in first at the bell and closed in 50.6so..... you'd have had to run faster than 50.6 covering more distance than centrowitz did....which basically just doesn't happen even at the elite level.50.6 is very fast, even in a 3:50maybe el G or Lagat could have done it back in the day. i've always been on the fence about centro and his sort of cocky mannerisms, but i don't care how he acts anymore. i'm a huge fan. he's an amazing tactician, an elite runner, and a gold medalist.and from the USA too, boys

As an Ohioan and a big fan of Murphy, I do not believe he would have beaten Centro.
Centro's race was too smart and played out absolutely perfectly considering the pace, traffic, and resulting physical nature. Anyone trying to come from anywhere but the lead on the rail would have to be incredibly superior to Centro and that currently doesn't exist.
