3x800 with 4:00 rest
1:57 / 1:54 1:51
Starting over mile pace, finishing faster.
Is this the hardest mile pace workout ever documented?

4 minutes is a lot of rest. Where was this documented?

He said this during his post race interview.

4 minutes is NOT a lot of rest for this kind of workout. Yowza.
He looked very tired at the race, and the time was slow.
Probably that workout was too hard for him.

You're clearly one of the dumbest letsrun posters. His job wasn't to peak at US ants, it was to win. If you think he'll still be tired from that workout in another week you're braindead.

For mile pace and faster 800s? Are you joking?

I'm amazed that you're able to type.

Impressive to be able to run 1:51 after the first two. Heck, even going 1:54 and then 1:51 after 4 minutes is a darn good, but didn't he split around 1:57.x/1:52.x at millrose?
Pre race it was mentioned at the 1:40 mark in this video

Seb Coe once did 4 x 800 in 1:52, but don't know how much rest he head.

Seb Coe said he did regular workouts of 6 to 8 half miles on the road "most of them run significantly under 2 minutes". Recovery was 30 to 90 seconds ---->

PS the workout begins at the 3:10 mark in that video
4 minutes rest is not that much rest, but for a guy like centro, this is really NOT that hard of a workout. ask any 3:50-low miler, and they'd tell you this is a tune-up workout, not a balls-to-the-wall workout...
Impressive workout for sure. But after watching Makhloufi's workout everything just seems 2nd rate.
Hardest workout I have ever seen.

5 years a go i thought i was in unreal shape. I did 2x800 off 2mins, then 4mins rest and 4x400 off 1 min.... the 8s were both 1.58 and the 4s 58's i thought i only ran 3.46 that year... id say centres work out is probably where he is at 3.33 sort of shape
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
