It's not really
Height = strong and healthy. And then if you think about it, probably more likely to have had better nutrition and to have been raised well, raised by a family who had more money. And more likely to pass on tall genes to children.
It goes for men and women. Too tall though to where it isn't aesthetically appealing could be a turn off for both sexes.
generally proportional to the size of his junk
girl like big junk
Ever hear of short man syndrome?
Why are boobs and a$$ such a big deal with men? You like what you like.

Hi Jamin.
Most women like to feel protected by their man. Be it while walking on the street or when going to sleep.
You would feel safer cuddling with LeBron instead of HardLoper.
Size of wallet is #1.
The great Mickey Rooney wasn't the tallest guy around but he had no problem getting the ladies to notice him.
It's about confidence. When you are 13 and one of the taller boys in your class, you may have more confidence than your shorter peers, for whatever arbitrary worth we put on height at this age (I guess physical strength, as no one picks on a kid more physically mature).
That easy kind of confidence stays with you, so it's really more about how relatively tall you were as a young adolescent, not as an adult. It doesn't matter if you plateau at 5'8" as an adult as long as you were tallish as a kid.
I suspect that like many evolutionary traits, it's a tad tautological. Women like tall guys because being tall means you have genes for being tall and that is desirable because women like tall guys.
Why are nice breasts and not being obese such big deals to men?
Woman and men are both very superficial. The good news is that a woman will overlook your unattractive qualities if you are rich enough. So stop being lazy and make some cash.
Being tall means
* higher IQ
* better at sports (including running)
* more career opportunities
* more career advancement
* more photogenic next to women
Shortness is an inferior trait.
Because short people got tiny little cars that go beep, beep, beep!

Oh yeah!
Yao Ming is great at running and looks really photogenic next to women.

You shouldn't draw conclusions because of the one example - you, Jamin - for who this is true.

This.
I also think it's a preference, just like some men and women prefer blondes or brunettes or blue eyes vs brown or plump vs thin and so forth...
I read somewhere that shorter than average (or taller than average) women tend to be attracted to men whose height would favor offspring that are more balanced height wise. Short women would go for a taller man because they would almost guarantee an offspring that is more normal height. A tall woman might not rule out short dudes for just the same reason.

No, there is no woman who prefers a short guy. It's a universally unattractive trait. Of course there are women who will go out with a short guy who they find attractive overall, but they would be more attracted to an average height or tall version of that guy if he existed.

Is being short a zero sum game?

Not necessarily, my sister who is very attractive and successful married a guy shorter than her. She is 5'6"and he is 5'4" and they have been married a long time. It can happen!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
