That begs the question; which school would have the best all time team. XC scoring?
This obviously isn't too much of a testament to the quality of the programs- a lot goes on between senior year and peak marathon performance usually- but still a fun list to see.
Who would get credit for Jerry Lawson...

i really like this question. lets bump this up and generate a thread. i.e. start making an NCAA distance runner superstars list, then sort out the schools etc. sprinters and females nextwould it be what the runners ran while in college or just where they went to school and all-time career stats? Bernard Lagat, if we count non-USA born ncaa athletes, could make a case for a weighted point system with his insane 3:26.34 1500m (3:29.30 as US citizen)bob kennedy as a us born obviously

How/when did Mahon end up at Villanova?
does it alma matter? wrote:

I'd like to see other colleges lists. How about HS lists. I think Torrence HS in CA had quite a marathon team in the late 60's. Elkhart Central HS in IN also had some good marathoners in the 1970's. I'd like to know of others.

His Junior year he transferred to Nova. I'm not sure why? Family was well off, so money wasn't the issue. His PRs (9:13 2 mile) were from his Junior year in high school until he was a sophomore so perhaps it's as simple as he wanted to go to Nova all along and finally he was on their radar.

Add Ryan Hall to Stanford's list, and if there is anyone else of note from Louisville, Wesley Korir would be a good start.
Missing Ryan Hall from Stanford old man.
