Probably significantly faster, maybe 2:20-2:30. 5:30-5:40 miles must seem like jogging to him.
1:07->2:23
Hmm fair enough ... but could he hold that pace for the whole race? I'd imagine he would keep a good pace until maybe mile 18 then fall off horribly.

If he sticks to his current training, then a DNF is most likely.
DNF

Oprah has finished a marathon.
I'd guess 2:26
1:44 - 3:30 - 13:15 - 28:30 - 65:30 - 2:26
If he had someone to pace him and keep him from going out to fast I'd say he could run 2:30 - 2:35. If left to pace by himself he would probably go out too fast and be walking by 18 miles.
If he paces himself properly, holds back to a 53:00 opening ten miles, he could run 2:19. I don't see this as particularly challenging for him.

Sounds about right. Hasn't he gone 13:20 for 5000? What is his mileage? If he is around 80 miles a week he would be fine running a marathon at 5:20 pace on a fast course.
I'd guess 2:18. I'm sure he has plenty of mileage and at semi-long runs. 5:20 pace would be pretty damn easy for him. Give him a month to do some longer long runs and he'll hit 2:15. The guy is just flat out much more talented than all of our 2:10-2:12 guys.
Any time he wants if he runs the Lehigh valley marathon
Oprah finished a marathon because she trained herself to finish a marathon in 4.5 hours. Centro is training himself to win a medal in the 1500M. DNF is a pretty good answer. He would run at most 10 miles at about 4:30-5 minute pace and step off.

2:35 closing with a sub-4:00 last mile.

Training to win a medal in the 1500M would still make him faster than Oprah in the marathon with no preparation needed.

I realize this is a meaningless topic, but do you really think Centro would go out there right now and try to run sub 2:10 pace off 1500m training? The only way I could see that happening is if it was a marathon with all the world's best and everyone but the winner got executed. No way would he be that dumb otherwise. I say he runs somewhere in the neighborhood of 2:20-2:25
the guys with extreme talent specific training and good dope don't always break 2:10
Centro is built a bit differently than the kenyans too

This is a more interesting premise. Who wins in this scenario? I don't think it'd be someone unexpected like Centro or some crap, but what if all the best marathoners in the world duked it out all at once, giving their 100% all in a super high stakes race?
2:18
