LOL. I didn't see the other thread. True story.
I looked at the women 5000m lineup and the men's 1500m.
Very strong fields, but somehow, I don't care about any of these runners.
It's (almost) as if I would be looking at a ping pong match between South Korea and Taipei. I probably could not care less of who wins, who medals or who gets a new PB.
Is this normal?

No fast times,
Non-distance events matter to a lot of people too, you know.
I think the French will care "a little" about Pascal Martinot-Lagarde vs. David Oliver.
I think the French will care "a little" about Lavillenie (both of them)
I think Europeans will care "a little" about Dafne Schippers vs. English Gardner vs. Fraser Pryce.
Distance? The Europeans would rather watch the field events, including Barshim vs. Kynard vs Ukhov
It's Europe, conditions can change overnight.
So 37-38 C? They don't do degrees F in Paris, dude. Shouldn't impact 800/1500 too much.
Not much difference? Hahahahaha! Apparently, you've never run a 1500m in 37C temperature!

I have when the daytime temperature was 37C, I ran it at 9pm and it wasn't a problem, oh hang on a sec, the Paris 1500m is on at... yes, you guessed it. Yes, "Very strange people here"
As per the OP's handle 'Look before you post!' if you don't want to come across as a moronic idiot.

Paris is pretty far north and west of the time zone though, sunset at 9:45 pm. It will still be in the 90s F and light.

Maybe in the 90s F and OK for a 1500m.

No fast times,
The races are stacked. Should be good races regardless of the times.
So far we have seen a season-leading women's 800 (the first sub-1:57 in two years) and an 8:01 steeple (with Jager FALLING 80 meters from a 7:55 finish).
OP is an idiot. Heat doesn't mean a thing for fast races 5000 and under.
