What about xfit?
I humbly submit my personal non-favorite ... "fueling". As in "What's your fueling strategy for the marathon".
Tempo

Tempo's a great one. It means different things to different people.
Even to distance runners, what does tempo really mean? How fast is it? 1 hour pace? 10km pace? Just a good rhythm pace, and working a bit?
To a 400 runner, it means running slower than 400 pace, but other than that the meaning isn't clear.
Toning....that is MY favorite. "I don't want to bulk up....I just want to tone." Sheesh
On my team, "tempo" is used by every non-field athlete. The hurdlers and sprinters use that word to refer to just running more or faster than usual, or in the case of the sprinters, actually doing something that could possibly make them somewhat tired. On the distance team, "tempo" is only used when talking about 2-5 mile fast runs off the track a little above race pace. Anything fast on the track is just a "hard workout" or "intervals."
"strength"
"Focus". Pretentious sports psychology word for old fashioned concentration.
Also the use of "medal as a verb as in "our aim is to medal in the World Championships" (Even worse is to use "podium" as a verb as in "I think X has a great chance to podium in the 1500")
Totally agree about "tempo". Used to describe such a wide variety of runs as to be almost meaningless.

Agreed. Runners mean endurance when they say this. This one is bad on Letsrun.
Tempo I actually assumed everyone was on about the same page. Maybe kids these days are confused but most runners and coaches my age are talking about the same thing.

Everyone is on the same page about tempo. It is just letsrun dweebs who get all worried about specifics. If you say to any runner "go for a 5 mile tempo", they know that means a hard effort, but not all out. Is it their 1 hr pace? Their 10k pace? Their 76% effort pace? Who knows? Who cares? There is no real confusion.

Well, runners (being SCRAWNY) have a fundamental lack of understanding "fitness". For them strength and fitness are "how long can you hold a mediocre pace?".
When I talk about STRENGTH, this is what I mean:

I just found it sort of ironic that this guy ends the article with "fraud" and talks about how there's no magical formula and then advertises supplements and special workouts at the bottom. I get that he's gotta move product to make some money, but perhaps pick a word other than "fraud" next time.
skinnyfat? I still have no idea how one can be both.

Well, I bet he cannot beat this guy...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfDDXpjFtP0I'm pretty sure that strength is used properly when reffering to endurance. People who say strength usually mean aerobic strength which is similar to muscular endurance, which is what you are reffering to. Pretty certain that strength used in that context is a correct usage.
