I'm a junior who's track times since high school haven't improved at all. I have high school pr's of 55.9/2:12/4:49/10:01 400/800/1600/3200 as well as a 17:21 xc 5k time. Was around 35-45 mpw in high school. So far in college track times have gone 59.9/2:12/4:51(1 mile)/9:24(3k)/16:32(indoors). My first year of xc had 6k pr 20:10 and 8k pr 27:38, This past xc season ran a 5k in 16:55 and was 26:58 for 8k. Averaged around 55-65 mpw as a freshman last year.
This past summer I had averaged 70 mpw with a LR of 14-17 w/last 2-4 miles @5:45-50 and 4-6 mile tempo's @5:40-50 pace as my only workouts with occasional strides to keep turnover up. During xc I average 75 mpw and currently for indoors I have got back up to 65-75 the past two weeks after taking time off from injury.
The structure of last week looked like this
sun: LR 14-17 w/last 2-3@5:45
mon: 4am, 8pm(usually some amount of 200's w/2:00 rest @30-31)
tues:8 (w/hills/form drills)
wed:4 am, 8pm (around 15-20:00 of broken threshold ex 5x4:00@5:30 w/2:00 Rest)
thur: 8 (w/hills/form drills)
fri:5
sat:10 (race)
total 69-72 miles
easy run pace is anywhere from 7:15-8:15 depending on feel
My past two meets have been okay I ran 3k in 9:24 and a 4:51 mile which are both about equivalent of my high school times. I would just like advice on what should I modify or do that I'm not doing to improve my track times. For example more tempos or add more mileage. It's frustrating that I've basically had the same pr's for three seasons so far. Also I have a HM pr of 75:45.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks
