He comes from Kenya. That's not nowhere.
He's been training with a world-class group for 5 years and was training on his own (with the intention of becoming a competitive runner) for years before that.
Out of nowhere?
He ran 2:03 last year and 2:04 the year before.
This thread is came from nowhere.

I would be more curious about 18 year-old Ghirmay Ghebreslassie (ERI) who finished 6th in 2:09:08. The next runner his age finished in 2:47:51
Running Times:
"Kimetto had always displayed a penchant for running, frequently winning schoolboy races. But life's realities prevented him from recognizing the full scope of his talent. With his family in need, he had no choice but to pursue farming maize and raising cattle for food."
The talent was there, Mutai recognized it, and hard training
with the group brought it out.
He came from the loins of two Kenyans, that's like a lottery ticket for elite running.

What do you want?
Slow steady progress
+ TUEs up the wazoo
+ Personal altitude tent
+ Personal underwater treadmill
+ Coach who massages your cuboid bone in public
+ Kick and sit tactics?
Surprised no one has said yet, the favourite letters in this forum... PEDs
Canova says PEDS don't work on Kenyans. This means it is my opinion that Canova most likely provides drugs to his runners and others like Kimetto.

I think 9 months after the semen was delivered, Kimetto came form the lons of one Kenyan.
Cool. Only problem is Canova doesn't coach Kimetto. The man himself says he knows nothing about Kimetto's training: http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=6035871Keep in mind that Kimetto won the RAK Half in 2012 under the name Denis Kipruto Koech, beating Wilson Kipsang. He was only "17" at the time.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
