"That is crap. It is unfair."
The anchor on E! News was way out of line when he commented on her performance:
"That was almost as bad as the Olympics!"
Way out of line
What? Did she fall right before the finish?

That's actually hilarious.
Sad that I had to be notified by a Hollywood friend on Facebook that the show had even started. (OK, I'm a dude and not prone to watching dancing shows. I do it to spend time with my wife.)
Where was the USATF in hyping this? With all their emails and notices that some 25km record was set in a 30km walking event, Lolo couldn't have received some PR for being on a show that rates pretty high in viewership? Only one release on September 4 saying that she was to be on the show. No follow up. No build up. No enlistment to call the 800 number???? This is a sport that brags about tens of millions who support it but can do grass roots effort to support her??!!
The NFL let us all know when Emmitt Smith, Jacoby Jones, Donald Driver, Michael Irvin, Chad Johnson, Lawrence Taylor, Kurt Warner, Jerry Rice, Warren Sapp, Jason Taylor and Hines Ward did. The NBA let us all know when Rick Fox, Clyde Drexler and Ron Artest did the show.
More proof that the problem is the USATF sucks at promoting our sport.

Dude .... she sucked. USATF can't fix that. That old lady and Cheech n Chong guy were both better than her! I love Lolo but, damn, she ain't a dancer.

Well, in life you try and fail, even if somewhere you may have the skills. This video in an instant made me, in my gut, remember all the awkward moments and awkward, ridiculous misses I've had (although I can't remember the specifics/events off the top of my head).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW8HphqoVBkYes, that was pretty bad--stiff, unsensual, undistinguished, awkward. I'm guessing she can't possibly be this bad of a dancer in private.
I can understand that she might have had stage fright and underestimated/misjudged how what she may have "practiced" would translate onto a stage in front of cameras and an audience, but it made me facepalm a bit. Almost seemed like the female equivalent of a guy having no lady-talking smoothness/skills or dance skills. Back to freshman year of high school! lol.
Oh boy. I sort of got the impression, too--and being multiracial myself and having many different aspects to my personality and involved in different subcultures, I can relate--she just didn't have a clear direction and confidence into what she wanted to do--vibe and feeling, visually, you name it.
She certainly can improve vastly if she keeps at it and gets some advice and finds a groove (music genre and dance/movement style) better suited to her. So it's not all too bad.
Her post on her FB page is worth reading.
I think the audience would have forgiven her the awful first dance, but her bad attitude is what got her voted off. Any time the camera showed her face last night, she had a scowl on it. Lots of people on that show are poor dancers at first. She could have handled it much better.

My point was the USATF did jack squat in promoting such a prominent athlete in a high profile program. Seriously, things like this are the reason every other sport has surpassed us in marketing and favorable viewing by the American public.Did she suck? Yes. Was her attitude bad? Yes, but with tens of millions of potential voters, I would have made that call had I known to watch a show like Dancing With the Stars. Those calls would have saved a sucky performance and possibly added a fan or two.
Agreed. I was rooting for her but damn, too many excuses. She came across terribly. I can imagine she was embarrassed.
On the other hand, Randy Couture did awesome.
Also, damn Carlton!
This chick has a big, big ego. Her sense of self entitlement is massive. Another huge failure like this won't even make a dent in her psyche.

I don't think you know what self entitlement means.

They did actually did advertise it quite a bit on Twitter, and some on Instagram as well. But agreed, that doesn't do much good unless you're already on those and following USATF. And I could be wrong, but I have the impression that the Twitter demographic differs quite a bit from the Dancing with the Stars-watching demographic.
I was a little disappointed in hearing this but after seeing that video I totally understand why they voted her off and why USATF didn't promote this. LOL
She didn't do much to expand her market or endear herself at all, period.
Pubic relationswise, this wasn't good for her.
Her routine looked like a Zumba class set.
The only "Dancing with the Stars" contestant I've ever enjoyed watching was Amy Purdy

It's inconceivable to me that she could dance like that.
So does this mean the whole high school dance trauma lives on?
