Letsrunners who also have kids, could you help a runner dad out?
We have a 13 months old daughter who is starting daycare. I work from home and with the help of grandparents and aunts, we've managed to keep her at home until now. She's more active now that she can walk, and I have work that requires meetings at the office and sometimes travel, so my wife and I have registered her to a small home daycare in our neighborhood (20h per week at $11/hour).
The problem is, after 4 days, she's still crying when I leave her. This morning, she got free from the daycare lady and ran back to me in tears calling "dadda". The lady said, don't worry, this is normal, just leave asap. WTH? It seems to me that leaving my daughter to strangers at 13 months old is completely unnatural. I think we should cancel our arrangement, and find a babysitter to help at home with the baby. My wife thinks I'm overreacting, and that we should try for a few more weeks. It's easier for her to say because she doesn't bring our daughter to daycare and doesn't see how she reacts.
What do you guys think??
