no. Cam had a great race. It's just that Rupp has so much talent that it sort of overshadows others. that's just the way life is. Many people would love to be in Cam's shoes and to run that fast.
He smashed the national indoor record by 6.5 seconds.
I feel bad for Dorian Ulrey more than Cam. Cam was a good teammate to pace a few extra laps for the tougher record, while still getting his own. Ulrey was probably more of a rabbit than anyone else. I am also seeing treniere be mary's rabbit, but that is reasonable since mary can learn how to race from her and they are close in ability. Salazar does focus a bit more on the golden boys or girls, but he is trying to get some Americans to become top in the world so there will be a little sacrifice. That is probably why there is such a large turnover with the second tier NOP athletes.
I think it is a great spot for Cam to be in. He can handle his own and take the workload. I see him in the 13:05 range come outdoors.
there's no doubt that rupp, like a son to salazar, is the top priority, but that should be advantageous to a guy like levins to the extent that he gets to train with people who are significantly better than he is. he won't have the task of rabbiting outdoors. consider this paying rupp back for rabbiting levins in every workout.

Ya think? If there was any doubt about how Salazar views anyone outside his absolute top stars (Rupp, etc.), take a listen to this interview with Amy Begley, starting at the 35:28 mark into the interview:
http://cloud259.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/amy-begley.mp3How would you like that from your coach after you just made the Olympic team?
He dug his own grave when he joined NOP, I do not feel sorry for him.
I thought Cam looked really good in that post race interview. When he has a bad race and gets stomped, he usually looks flushed in the face. His eyes usually blood shot. Here he looked much calmer, very clear and recovered. Just thought he looked real good and calm.
Can't feel too sorry for him when he chose the evil dopers.

Seems like he's able to recover faster these days...I wonder how?
If you watch any of cams interviews he always has that subtle frustration vibe going. Even when he runs a PR or in this case a NR. I think he puts a lot of pressure on himself and just wants to roll like a beast every race. It didn't seem like he was complaining about setting the pace only that the game plan had changed when the second pacer didn't materialize.
On a side note does anybody have an idea what his training is looking like these days? I know he cut his mileage way back but I'm curious to know just how much volume he's doing these days.
Levins day will come if he keeps improving when he will have some young guy pace him to better times.

Still working on that college PR though.
I think cam will gain his spot in NOP….guy hasn't even been there for a year? Galen's been there for years and Cam just isn't as developed in the way NOP develops its runners…i think he will get there eventually
He improved his indoor PR by 19 seconds
As said previously, he improved the Canadian record by 6.5 seconds
If he was an American, he would now be ranked 5th "all-time"...
If you feel sorry for Levins, you should feel even more sorry for all Canadian middle distance/distance runners that ever ran and all US middle distance/distance runners that ever ran (except for a handful of US guys).
Sure, I feel for Cam - he got stuck in a position that he didn't want when the rabbit dropped out early. That's plain bad luck.
I don't feel bad he was unfairly abused by his coach & teammate though, as others seem to be indicate. Galen was in a position to do something really special, and needed help from his teammate to do that. They're not always going to be in the same races together, Cam will get plenty of moments when it will be all about him. That night just wasn't one of them.
The Jew Fro is coming back. Watch out world. Cam MF Levins is back in beast mode.
That's weird that this hasn't been posted and discussed before, considering how NOP-mad letsrun is.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
