You are so right. My ortho told me first to have my SI joints moved a little to see if that might relieve some back pain. I went to a chiro and told him I have FAI and he said "you should have seen me before surgery, your hips are so rotated!" lol, I'm like "that's because my psoas is pissed and pulling hard on my lower back" but he didn't believe me because to them the spine affects everything and nothing affects the vertebral column. So I started to explain to him what FAI was and halfway he responds "I know what FAI is, I went to medical school!" I almost laughed out loud. But I didn't want to "impinge" on his ego (pun intended). What an idiot. That's how I know chiros are freaks, there isn't anything out there they cannot do. When you talk to an ortho they are very open and honest that surgery is my choice and may not solve the problem. I have never had a chiro talk to me like that.

PT's, chiros, and other parapractitioners are absolutely useless for this.
Even if you approached them and said "I think it might be a labral tear," first, they'd barely know what you meant, and if they DID try to figure it out, they'd tell you it was something else and NOT your hip labrum. Trust me on this, they have no idea what FAI is about.
