2-mile tempo @ 9:32
4x 400 @ 64-62 seconds
2-mile tempo @ 9:28
4x 400 @ 62, 61, 59, 56 seconds

That's interesting that Matt Hughes used this "signature" workout for the 3000m steeplechase, but Korir would use it for a marathon. The way Korir mentioned mile repeats I thought he might be talking about something like a 12 mile run laced with 8 mile repeats at high intensity or something.
