Ryan Hall I'm Disappointed.
yee have little faith, he's coming back!!!
He could still get the AR. Cmon you didnt think he was going to win did you??
hahahahahaha all American runners suck!!!!!
God's doing a better job for Hall than Al Sal is for Ritz
Well you can't knock it out of the park every single time. Maybe he wasn't prepared for the higher-than-average temperatures. Maybe it just wasn't his day. In any case, 2:08 is still worlds ahead of every other American marathoner. Just isn't the kind of level of race he'll need to compete on the world stage.
Even though Hall beats the pants off any other American marathoner, I no longer can consider him a contender to win a big marathon. The Great White Hope is no more.

except for that AR and world half medal. id take the current version ritz's career over hall's in a heartbeat.
That weather was too hot , look at Mosops last 2,2k and he's kenyan... Ryan Hall will get back and kick ass @Houston and then in London!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ryan did one thing that wasn't disappointing. He ran with the leaders for as long as he could (13-14 miles) and then hung in there for a respectable finish.
How many of you voted in the pole just to see how many people were dumb enough to vote for Hall. I think he had achance but to vote that he would win, come on, what sport have you been watching.

That's ok. I'm disappointed with you and all the other bashers who can't run any faster and show us how it's done.
Take a look at the IAAF tables - Ryan's performance is third in US long distance running 2011, behind Rupp (1) and Lagat (2). And only 3 points behind Lagat. I thought he had a chance, but Mosop was way better than I expected. Korir and the other guys also ran really better than one might have expected. I still think Ryan Hall is awesome. Nowadays the competetion on the roads is just really crazy. I dont know about his racing tactics. I feel like he should either completely not go with a 2:04 pace (of course the problem would be that he had no pacers) or hang on for longer than the half, like till 30k. He will have to improve ~2 minutes to get in contention. Perhaps he should get a half in 61 minutes, but now he will probably not have time for that.
a 2:08 is what I would expect from a top American marathon runner. Maybe we will someday we an American run 2:06. What place did Ryan finish at.

Are you kidding? Hall has run 2:06:17 and 2:04:58. Idiot.
at this point, his 2:06:17 is his best effort by far. like it or not, this was probably a very similar effort to his Boston 2:04:58. i'd say a 2:07:35 today would have been the exact same performance
Then it means, since becoming self-coached, he's declined (given huge wind-aid in Boston). He used to run stride-for-stride with Geb deep into a race. Oh, I forgot- Letsrun posters aren't results-oriented. I hope he was just ill.
Why is at always the same few guys (or maybe one - given the number of people with numerous names) ripping on Hall. What makes any of you think that he owes any of you anything? It's his career to do whatever he wants with it, good or bad. If you can do better, then go out and beat him, it's not like he is taking money out of your pockets -if you are stupid enough to bet on/against him, then you get what you deserve anyway.
Hall and Khannouchi between them have the 10 fastest times by an American. Their times are pretty similar but where Khannouchi has wins Hall has finished 4th or 5th.
If Hall had been running his times 15-20 years ago he would have 3-4 major wins to his credit. Unfortunately for Hall, marathoning has changed dramatically in the last decade. But this does not diminish the magnitude of his accomplishments.
