The correct answer is clearly Kip Litton
George W. Bush wasn't a peach, either.
i would say the presidents that created social security and medicare. i believe that was FDR and LBJ. legalized ponzi schemes.
side note: definitely agree we should decriminalize Mary Jane.
J. Robert Oppenheimer
"Now I become Death... the Destroyer of Worlds"
or
Ray Kroc
The man who made us fat.
Pick your poison...
Sarah Palin
She's an Alaskan, not a U.S. citizen.
Yup, it's all Reagan's fault. Everything that has happened the last 30 years is his fault. What a terrible man.
Hint: the above is sarcasm.
Maybe we can start referring to the homeless sites as "Reaganvilles"
Alberto Salazar
Apparently you don't understand ponzi schemes

Robert McNamara is high on the list. So is Don Rumsfeld. Avery Brundage is another.
I still haven't bothered to figure out who Kip Litton is.
Reagan was far worse on foreign policy than domestic. On domestic policy, Reagan could be an odd mixed bag. He was actually a very protectionist president in order to win support of the once powerful steelworkers and autoworkers unions.
Reagan gets credit for taking down the Soviet Union, but the reality is that the Soviet Union was metastisizing internally years before Reagan showed up. And Reagan may have actually unecessarily extended the cold war by rebuffing sweeping peace offers from Gorbachev in favor of a long drawn out treaty procees.
Reagan gave birth to many a dictator and terrorist. Reagan supported the Mujahideen against the Soviets in Afghanistan. He was a strong supporter of brutal dictators in Latin and Central American and the Middle East (Mubarak came to rise with the support of Reagan).

Get rid of the sarcasm bullshit.
When Reagan came to office, the total public debt was ~$800 billion. When Reagan left, the total public debt was $2.8 TRILLION. When Bush I left, the total public debt was $4 TRILLION.
In 12 years, Reagan and Bush I rang up FOUR TIMES the Federal Debt of all of the Presidents that preceeded them--and that included the costs of two world wars, Korea, and Vietnam.
Reagan started the process of adding more than $8 TRILLION of the $13 Trillion total public, JUST from the Presidents named Reagan and Bush.
Reagan, Bush, Bush--and the dumbasses that voted for them--have done the most damange in the history of the US.
You are dead wrong on the elder Bush.
The policies he put in place enabled the economy to thrive under Clinton and for a time, rid the US of its debt.

More total bullshit from right wing apologists.
The policies Bush I put into place, particularly the total unwillingness to do anything about the debt, resulted in the MESS that Clinton inherited.
What do you think "It's the economy, stupid" came from? It came from the CRAP that Bush produced.
Stop posting bullshit and admit the bunch of incompetents that you are.
You have just pissed off my grandmother and the other millions of elders who would starve to death or die of lack of medical care without Social Security and Medicare. Believe it or not, not all Americans are born with silver spoons in their mouths, and not all Americans make a fortune in their lifetimes. For centuries, cultures have understood the need to take care of our elders (those who sweat and give to their offspring so they can have a better life), unfortunately America has too many self-serving greedy and ungrateful among us who don't get this.
I'm still depressed the 40 year old confessions thread was deleted.

You apparently think its a coincidence that the economy tanked at the same time the internet bubble burst? Clinton did a pretty good job knocking back spending, but the surplus was not his doing, and it eventually led to a lot of people losing a lot of money in '01 and '02. The surplus was illusory, it wouldn't have stayed no matter who was in office.

Completely off topic, but great handle.

The correct answer is Woodrow Wilson.
ò started the war on drugs. Drugs were legal until 1913.
ò started the federal income tax. It did not exist pre-Wison.
ò typical of progressives of that era he was an out-and-out racist, and resegregated the federal work force, which had been desegregated following the civil war.
ò started us down the road of large scale international adventurism by unnecessarily getting us involved in WWI, and IIRC it was also Wilson who bollixed the treaty arrangements, setting the stage for WWIII.
ò shredded the First Amendment, tossing people in jail for anti-war pamplets & such.
Generally set the stage for the rise of big government that got us in our present mess. Oh yeah he was the only US prez ever with a PhD. So much for the superiority of intellectual presidents.
