add retired steeplechaser wilson boit kipketer who ran his first marathon today in 21521
Boston now has a 2 wave start with the 2006 cutoff being 3:30:42 to get into wave 1, the 1st 10,000 runners.
Not that I mean to defend Sean Combs, but the guy trained for the NY marathon in 8 weeks and he ran the race with tendonitis in his knee.
Yes he had the help and support and crap, but 8 weeks for a guy that was never a former pro-athlete (Lance) is impressive.
How about Lloyd Scott, the dude who did the marathon in the deep sea diving suit?

As far as celebrity marathon times to beat, how can anyone forget Brandon Moen's near world record setting treadmill effort of 2:43.51?
Which landed him about 20 minutes shy of the record.
No he said he ran the 400m in college!!!He ran as slow as Oprah - she is more impressive b/c she is old and overwieght even by non-runner standards. Joan Rivers predictions?

Joan Rivers predictions?
In defense of Oprah, her weight goes up and down a lot, but when she ran the marathon in 1993, her weight was way down and she was not overweight. I went looking for a pic, but could not find one quickly, but she looked pretty fit then.
As to a JR prediction, DNS.
She will not even toe the line.
werknesh kidane is another celeberty considering trying a marathon in the next 2 years.
as for the joan rivers prediction, i dont think rivers will run her first marathon as fast as kidane will run hers.
Mark Allen is great but not sub 30 10k after swimming
Get a clue and do some research before you diss. Mark ran countless open road 10Ks in under 30-31, incl Bolder Boulder at altitude in Feb. he ran the Cherry Blossom primarily to honor Nike who was sponsoring the event in about 47:xx.
2:40 marathon OPEN=sub hour 10 miler anywhere thus 2:40 Ironman marathon= well you do the math
The men's backwards WR is 3:34 or thereabout. Pretty sad if you can't beat that running forward.
Normann Stadler, the Winner Iron Man Hawaii 2006 ran a 2:55:03 marathon after the swim and bike.
What was Lance's time (with only the run)?
I'm surprised no one has said Alan Turing, didn't he run around 2:46 back in like the 1940's?
Yes, Turing apparently ran 2:46:03 in 1948. Keep in mind that the winning time at the Olympics that year was just under 2:35.
Didn't a guy run Boston last year in 3:03 or something while juggling?
I'm sure chicks dig him.
Nell McAndrew 3:10:52 London Marathon 2005
Besides Jalabert's 2005 NYCM, he also ran London in 2006 (2:57:39) and Barcelona 2007 (2:45:52). So Lance has some work to do if he wants to beat JaJa's best time.
Denise Hazlick, the msnbc writer who wanted to do an iron man - Vancouver 2005 6:39.
That is good for a time in about the top 95% of all marathoners.

I just searched for her in the results on the marathon's webpage and she is not there.
I also searched for her on Marathonguide.com and she is not there either.
Did she bandit the race?
Found her, official time 6:36:16
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
