Kipruto won over Edward Cheserek in 60:37 while Teferi beat Irine Cheptai by 2-seconds despite losing some time following the lead vehicle the wrong way in the final 400m. Talking about Galen Rupp's DNF, his agent said, "Unfortunately, it was still his lower back/S.I. joint issue. Galen felt discomfort and stiffness there and wasn't able to run fluently."
