Seb Coe Is Right: Cross Country Needs to Be in the Olympics -- the Winter Olympics

If the IOC is serious about its claim the Olympics is about "diversity and unity", then adding traditional cross country to the Winter Olympics is a no-brainer as it will give an entire continent a reason to tune in as for the first time ever an African would win a Winter Olympic medal. All Russian Athletics Federation Accepts Full Suspension From IAAF Over Doping Scandal

They had the right to appeal against the IAAF suspension, but that would have delayed the whole process even more and killed their chances of being reinstated for Rio 2016. The IAAF council also agreed to the formation of an "Integrity Unit".

IAAF Provisionally Suspends Russian Athletics Federation

22 of the 24 voting members were in favor of the ban; only one was against. Russian athletes will not be able to compete in any international competitions and Russia will not be able to host the 2016 World Race Walking Cup or World Junior Championships. To regain membership to the IAAF, the new federation would have to fulfill a list of criteria.
