The AIU has upheld its suspension of Kipruto who will lose his 10k road world record and 2019 Worlds 10k bronze as a result. Kipruto is the first athlete coached by the famed Brother Colm O'Connell to receive a ban and he went to great lengths to try to prove his innocence. In addition to creating a website, he went on a series of benders over the span of 7 weeks to see if that would impact his blood values in the ABP as he admits he's an alcoholic. *Rhonex Kipruto 6-Year Ban Official

The 2019 10,000 bronze medallist was bused for an ABP violation. His agent Davor Savija has some fanatastic quotes in this piece. "It is difficult and unfortunate for me to say that I find myself in a situation where my heart is broken," said Kipruto's manager Davor Savija in an e-mail.  : "The heartbreak is caused by the fact that I find all of the possible outcomes of this situation leading to a major loss. If Rhonex is lying --which I do not believe is the case-- that is obviously a disaster. If all of these accusations are just a big mistake --such as a false positive ABP case or, God forbid, if AIU has 'dropped the ball'-- then all such scenarios are big losses."

Kipruto won over Edward Cheserek in 60:37 while Teferi beat Irine Cheptai by 2-seconds despite losing some time following the lead vehicle the wrong way in the final 400m. Talking about Galen Rupp's DNF, his agent said, "Unfortunately, it was still his lower back/S.I. joint issue. Galen felt discomfort and stiffness there and wasn't able to run fluently."

The professional fields were announced for next months United Airlines NYC Half and Olympians Galen Rupp and Molly Seidel are the headliners on the domestic front. Rhonex Kipruto is the heavy favorite on the men's side with Senbere Teferi, Irine Cheptai and Sara Hall expected to battle on women's.

The half marathon WR holder (Yalemzerf Yehualaw) is racing the 5,000/10,000 WR holder (Letesenbet Gidey) on Sunday in Valencia. The Valencia Half Marathon was incredible as not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 men broke the old WR of 58:01.

High winds may prevent the world records from falling, but the racing on Sunday in Valencia should be spectacular. Can Kiplimo close out a perfect 2020 with a win, or can Kenyans Kandie & Kipruto take him down?
