It's relays week - normally one of the greatest weekends of the year for college track fans - but this year's calendar has us a little depressed as the big guns aren't competing with each other. Instead of everyone going to Penn or Drake, some are now going to Arkansas, others to LSU and others aren't going anywhere. Still, there are a few amazing races that we are really excited about but most of them are individual races ironically.

And we're giving the edge naturally to the Olympic silver medallist.

Ryen Frazier won the 2-mile, but was denied in the mile by Nevada Mareno won beat her by just over a second in 4:43.23.
*MB: Should Grant Fisher have been DQd at NBN? According to the race recap by RRW's Chris Lotsbom Fisher would have been DQd if there was a protest (since he took around 4-5 steps on the infield), but there was none. He also estimated that Fisher might have ran 4:00-high to 4:01-low if he hadn't stumbled.

Ryan Hill went 25.77 the final lap to win his first "real" national title over Ben Blankenship and Evan Jager.

There are lots of fantastic mid-d races - two American record holders will clash in the men's 600; the BTC trio of Chris Derrick, Ryan Hill and Evan Jager square off with Ben Blankenship in the 2-mile. The mile features USATF outdoor champions Matthew Centrowitz, Leo Manzano and Lopez Lomong and well as rising stars Blankenship and Pat Casey.

Sarah Brown (3:15.54), Mahagony Jones (53.59), Megan Krumpoch (2:05.68) and Brenda Martinez (4:27.77) got the world record (10:42.57) but they had to work for it; Simpson (9:18.35 2-mile) and Moser (2:37.86) picked up nice wins.

Oh baby is this one loaded. Season debuts for Bernard Lagat, Emma Coburn and Jenny Simpson. A three-way slugfest for the 1000m AR between  Centrowitz, Sowinski and Loxsom. A world record attempt in the women's DMR. Other stars like Mary Cain, Nick Willis and Lawi Lalang. Saturday's meet in Boston is going to be good.

Nice wins by Ajee Wilson and Jordan Hasay at the pro season got underway in full swing.

Ajee Wilson, Laura Roesler, Mary Cain and Natoya Goule are all entered in the women's 800. Rupp & Levins will attempt the mile/2 mile double with less than 30 minutes rest and new pros Abbey D'Agostino and Marielle Hall will face Jordan Hasay in the women's 2 mile. The meet concludes with a WR attempt in the DMR (Team USA features Matthew Centrowitz, Mike Berry, Erik Sowinski and Pat Casey).

Team USA DMR has Erik Sowinski, Matt Centrowitz, Pat Casey and Mike Berry. Galen Rupp and Cam Levins are listed in the mile and 2-mile. 800 has Ajee Wilson, Mary Cain and Laura Roesler. Abbey D'Agostino, Jordan Hasay, Treniere Moser and NCAA 5000 champ Marielle Hall in the two mile.

This meet is loaded from a mid-d and distance perspective but sadly Mo Farah's race is an insult to the fans. Silas Kiplagat, Ayanleh Souleiman and Asbel Kiprop plus Leo Manzano and Matt Centrowitz, who will race the mile, David Rudisha squares off against Adam Kszczot at 600, while world leader Ajee Wilson and world champ Eunice Sum resume their rivalry in the 800.
