I've been reading more about it and found a few more articles. The setback may not end up being that big of a deal for the women in the long run - it may actually help them. People in the US love to play the victim card and the women now get to keep doing that and since the new CEO of US soccer is a former women's player so I'm sure their new contract will be happy for all. I mean even the men's team has asked for them to be paid more. What's funny to me though is reading some of these articles about the case in the left leaning media. People are calling the decision "Shocking" and what not. Legally, it wsan't shocking at all if you read the judge's decision. Look at this excerpt from the NY Times.
the NY Times wrote:
Not only had U.S. Soccer not paid the players less than the men, Judge Klausner wrote, it had convinced him that “the WNT has been paid more on both a cumulative and an average per-game basis than the MNT” over the years covered in the case.
And the pandering by the politicians on this is embarrassing. Did anyone see Joe Biden trying to appear all woke on this?
https://twitter.com/JoeBiden/status/1256636638144446466I can't believe that tweet is just randomly dropped in the middle of the NY Times article. What does it have to do with the decision? They left just so much wants to give the guy a pass given the sexual assault allegation.
Does the US govt even give any money to them like he implies?
