This makes me happy
This makes me happy
The court found the women were paid more than the men but that’s not good enough for them. They won’t be happy until women’s soccer is as popular as men’s.

Spoken like a true loser.
No one is stopping people from buying women’s jerseys, tickets or watching games. When they sell more, they should be paid more.
If the women generated more money than the men would they claim they should be paid less to equal the men’s lower revenue? Of course not.
Megan Rapinoe is 34, she wouldn’t have benefited anyway. OP stays home DEVASTATED.

Yeah, these articles never address where the money is supposed to come from. I don't believe it's from a charity.
"This approach — merely comparing what each team would have made under the other team's CBA — is untenable in this case because it ignores the reality that the MNT and WNT bargained for different agreements which reflect different preferences, and that the WNT explicitly rejected the terms they now seek to retroactively impose on themselves," Klausner wrote.
The women rejected the terms of a different CBA and then tried to correct their mistake through litigation ? I don't believe that. Looks like their plan from the beginning was to try to make it look like they were victims of gender discrimination, then get a Federal judge to rule in their favor. The women stood to gain enormous PR value from winning their case as the news media would have fawned over them as heroes.
But it all backfired. I hope the appeal crashes and burns too.
I watch women’s soccer, I coach competitive girl’s soccer, but this is the proper judgement. It doesn’t make me happy like the incel OP, but it is just, as their pay is not discriminatory based upon what they produce. A judgement in their favor would have made youth soccer more expensive than it already is. The best way to increase their compensation is to promote their game, not harm it with frivolous lawsuits. Women outnumber men in this world. If women start following women’s sports like men follow football, basketball, etc., their compensation will exceed that of men.
This is a slippery slope because if they gave them the same pay as the men then it could open up more litigation for equal pay in other areas and sports. If they deserve the same pay as the men then I deserve the same pay too for sitting on my couch all day and should not be discriminated against. The whole business of money making is pretty random, not like an athlete really deserves 100mil, but it drives individuals to unscrupulous greed.

The US women do bring in more money than the US men.
"That’s according to audited financial statements from the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) obtained by The Wall Street Journal. In 2016, women’s games generated $1.9 million more in revenue than men’s games. From 2016 to 2018, women’s games generated approximately $50.8 million in revenue, compared with $49.9 million for men’s games."

That’s interesting, I didn’t actually know that, small bit surprised to be honest.
"Klausner's ruling was informed by the federation's contention that women's players were paid more in total and on a per-game basis than their male counterparts were during the period in question. Friday's ruling cited as undisputed fact that from 2015 to 2019, the women's national team averaged $220,747 per game in total payments (for a total of $24.5 million), while the men's national team averaged $212,639 per game in total payments (for a total of $18.5 million)." Not even counting the NWSL subsidy.
Total non-issue publicity stunt

Why do these self-entitled sexist women even still have a job? If these were men that tried to be as sexist as these women, we would be lynching balls.
Yeah, you are soo woke making fun of someone's looks. Way to go!
Women's soccer sucks, oh wait, all soccer sucks!
The judge issued a summary judgement against the equal pay part of their case. That's the equivalent of a knockout in the law world. It's hard to argue with his reasoning.
“The history of negotiations between the parties demonstrates that the Women’s National Team (WNT) rejected an offer to be paid under the same pay-to-play structure as the Men’s National Team (MNT), and the WNT was willing to forgo higher bonuses for benefits, such as greater base compensation and the guarantee of a higher number of contracted players.
“Accordingly, plaintiffs cannot now retroactively deem their CBA worse than the MNT CBA by reference to what they would have made had they been paid under the MNT’s pay-to-play terms structure when they themselves rejected such a structure."
So it sounds like women - who are more risk averse than men - agreed to a deal they then didn't like.
Parts of their suit in regards to the type of aircrafts they flew on, hotels they stayed at and access to medical care still is in play.
You can read the judge's decision here:

For every woman that takes soccer extremely seriously into adulthood there are probably 50 men doing the same. So much deeper and harder to be at the top. Of course they should be paid more.
There was a thread on this yesterday, mentioning Rapinoe in the title. Judge got it right was the consensus.
LRC note. We've merged them together.
