There will be no XC, IT at most colleges this year. OT might only be women's teams.
We're hearing that coaches in minor sports in our states HS (Md) will not be paid this year. For XC , only one volunteer coach, no Saturday meets and league meets will be run against the same schools within a 15 mile radius.
Indoor track with track rental and bus rental fees going up - will be permanently gone
I'm talking to my school's AD on Monday so I'll let you know what he says but last time I talked to him he basically said that without football a lot is going to change because our athletic department is self sufficient and a lot of that is on ticket sales.

Some posters are talking about high school, and it's confusing with the college posts. But it doesn't matter, because a lot of the college coaches are going back to HS soon!

Most HS don't make any real revenue from HS football. That's just not true. And college coaches are fine. You watch too much CNN. The Gov of California just said school can be back as soon at July.

Schools might open in the Fall, but Social Distancing will be in place. That rules out crowding kids in a bus to go to a meet. Also, eliminates runners close together, making racing impossible. So for cross country in Fall 2020 ... forget it.
As soon as it's clear there's no racing in the Fall, coaches will be furloughed without pay. But unemployment benefits are a good gig for a few months!
