Georgia, one of the last states to shut down, is going to open businesses like gyms, theaters, salons, etc. as soon as Friday.
Thoughts? Too early? Just right?

Seem very Bravey to me.
Finally somebody with guts and brains. The flu season is over just as predicted. May 1 will be all clear.
Good thing the CDC is there so they can treat all the sick people when the number of cases explodes.
I suspect the whole shutdown was BS

Need to plan a trip Georgia.
Have you seen the stats regarding treatment? Estimates are that hospitals kill as many as they save. Ventilators are actually killing some. Flattening the curve no longer makes sense since hospitals are not overwhelmed and patients are just as well off at home.

No, I haven't seen these statistics? Sounds interesting. Where can I find them?
Georgia had the 7th most new cases of the 50 states yesterday and also 7th most in deaths. If one was to be kind, the Governor of Georgia would be viewed as off-kilter.
Are you afraid to see that here rates will drop if people are encouraged to be outside?

Oh Georgia your stupidity surprises no one. South Carolina is in line to prematurely open right behind you. That should tell you something.
South Carolina seemed a bit peeved that you are threatening to take its historically accepted position as the country's stupidest state. Georgia just know, South Carolina won't give up its title that easily, but you have a fine start.
If the hospitals are caught up and ppe is accessible go for it. God forbid we live with some calculated risk. If you are not an overweight smoker or over 75 years + live life a bit more careful and if you get covid it will be a tough two weeks JUST LIKE WHEN YOU GOT THE FLU . If you are older wear your mask and live carefully. People live with risk every single day when they knowingly smoke cigarettes, drive to work, eat a McDonald’s diet, play on the trampoline bla bla. The only difference is the societal pressure to feel scared. It makes you feel like a villain for sizing up the risk and choosing to live like we always have. The pressure the governor’s must have is rough and props to the Georgia governors for being a strong one
But it is too scary to possibly have a cough for a week. I would rather starve.
I don't know anyone in Georgia, so I'll sit back and watch if this leads a lot of deaths, sickness and transmissions to know if and when it's OK to open up my state.
I think you are conflating strong with reckless, and brave with lack of foresight.

Why do the owners and moderators of this site let this forum get so damn political? This place is worse than most 4chan boards and subreddits with how saturated every single thread is with politics.
