No real sales. This is crazy.
Everyone who is telling me it will be OK is still getting a paycheck. Most work for either healthcare or the government is some form or another. If you are young and have nothing to lose this is no big deal so your opinion is worthless. If you haven’t actually lost your job than stop telling those who have to stay home. Not all of our jobs can be done on Zoom or from home.
Can’t you claim unemployment?
Also Trump is sending out checks to help. Amazon and grocery stores are hiring if you really want a job.

Even among this group, it's mainly the older ones with seniority that are saying that it will be OK. The younger ones will still be impacted, but at a later time than those working in other sectors.

Exactly!!! More and more people are feeling this way. This can't go on much longer and people saying" keep things closed " are making me Furious? and some of them are actually posting themselves running on Facebook outside, while staying" stay home and keep things shut down". What FN Hypocrites they are.
The "Keep Things Shutdown" folks are all cut from the same cloth. They're not personally impacted by a loss of income, purpose, and community so they have no issues inflicting those outcomes on others. If we reopen society, nothing is preventing them from continuing to hide in their homes.
Actually, that is what l have been saying. I see this one dude living it up on Facebook and telling people shutdown things for a long time. These people make me seriously mad. Not a worry or care. Actually his only worry, according to his Facebook, is when will they start having races?

Running outside is fine as long as you are social distancing fellas.

The news aren't going to report the people that will be committing suicide because of this or turning to a life of crime, or domestic violence as a result of this because those numbers are going to spike, along with alcohol and drug addiction. News stations are loving this because people are tuning in and experts, who before this wouldn't be givin the time of day before this, are making regular appearances on news shows. Actually, some people love this shutdown!
Wrong. They will and it's already started.

Even if people could survive on $1,200 a month, what would happen the following month? Do we just get monthly $1,200 checks indefinitely?
Hey Knight, nobody starves in countries who do it right. Enough food for everyone. Enough medical providage for everyone. Enough shelter for everyone. See Europe and Canada.
Somehow you forgot Mosques, but yeah!

Ask Trump, he’s the president not me.
I know lots of people who haven’t missed a single pay check and they still got $1,200 check. That doesn’t make much sense. In the majority of European countries they just paid those who lost their jobs about 80% of their salary until it’s resolved. That was much more forward thinking. Demand better from our administration.
I didn't get a stimulus check and I certainly don't need one, especially at the expense if those who do need them. As a guy that is ok financially even now, what I want is for idiots like Gavin Newsome to open up the economy again before we all riot and cut his f'ing head off.
Democrats getting it wrong again and shooting themselves in the foot. Democratic leaders should be the ones promoting rational risk management measures even legislating the wearing of face masks and demanding to cancel the shutdown so working class Americans can get back to work and support their families. Instead they're the ones making people suffer without a sustainable or clear exit strategy. A lot of these voters, Latinos included, will remember this arrogance.
Dumbo the White House, Senate and MOST states have Republican Governors.
Take personal responsibility and be real conservatives and stop blaming everyone else for your problems.
I fully understand. I still have my job, work from home, some pay cut, but I'm fortunate.
Look, this can't go on for much longer, I agree, but really Trump and some other politicians like de Blasio are to blame, and now the US is in trouble because they didn't act early, and still there is no test and trace infrastructure in place because the president prefers doing daily election campaigning instead of getting things done, bragging about his TV ratings in the midst of a pandemic.
Meanwhile, countries in Europe that did well are already opening up. The thing is, even if you open businesses now in the US, most people won't go to restaurants and stores, because they wouldn't feel safe. So revenue would still be way down, for many businesses it would not be economically smart to open now. So I'm not sure your have more business.
A major issue is that the safety net in the US is not only weak, but also dumb. In Germany a company can keep their workers on payroll, paying them only 10%. The govt pays the remainder up to 80, 90%. Smart policy during a pandemic or during any major recession. In the US everybody gets 1200. Very dumb. Not targeted at all. Trump is eager to bail out the airlines and some of his corporate buddies, while small and medium enterprises get crumbs. He is corrupt to the core.
I hope things get better soon for you and all of us.
I would rather be homeless and eating out of a dumpster than catch COVID-19. #StayAtHome
Lots of valid points although by and large Europe is not opening up yet.
The administration botched it on numerous levels.
