I know David Lat, we’re not close but we knew each other years ago in the legal world. His case got a lot of publicity, and he at least used to be a pretty regular runner.
A friend of mine knows David Lat as well.
I had COVID for two weeks.
I’m not running 60, 70 mile weeks anymore, maybe 15-20 on a busy week. I do more HIIT and weights now for strength training but still love to run.
It wasn’t the sickest I’ve ever been by any means but it lasted quite some time. And the 10 days afterwards felt like I was living at altitude, getting winded doing simple things like carrying groceries and going up the stairs.
Do you think it's done permanent damage to your lungs?
Did you have all the three main symptoms - (cough, breathing problems, fever)? And where you training hard when you likely already had the virus?
The V35 400m World Champion whose thread Malmo deleted, had symptoms but no cough, and so didn't think he had the virus and did high intense workout regardless. The next day he was needing to get tested and it was confirmed he had it.
I woke up the five days ago with a bit of a headache and feeling lethargic, but as I suffer from sinus problems it wasn't all that unusual. Decided to do a fairly easy run and I felt labored and heavy from the off, actually having to stop to rest after 1km. Ploughed on and even ended with a 600m at mile pace, just to reassure myself that nothing much was wrong with me. Next day started having breathing problems and a fever, now it's literally painful for me to breath when lying down and my head feels like it's going to explode.
But no cough at all. Anyway, obviously going to phone the doctor today.
