I have told this story before, but in the summer of 2020, I had to drive up to DC for a work trip (yes, an awkward in-person meeting with a client across a large hotel ballroom). I got up at 5:00 am to do a 7-miler from M Street through Georgetown. I remember running up Tunlaw at like 5:15 am and it was a ghost town and very dark. I was wearing one of those gator masks around my neck in case I needed to pull it up for any reason. I had not seen a single soul at this point, and out of nowhere, someone yelled from across the street and down a side street, "Put a mask on you a$$hole!"
I still think about how crazy that was.
