The problem in the UK is that they let the virus get out of hand (deliberately, then did a u-turn as regards 'herd immunity'). Czech Republic were already screening passengers from China and Northern Italy for a number of weeks, and then introduced the lockdown and closed the borders completely 3 weeks ago, as well as making the wearing of masks compulsory outdoors. Now it looks like they have the virus very much under control here and they are talking about starting easing restrictions as early as this week, including opening running tracks (and without the requirement to wear masks). Runners will have to keep two meters apart on the track, and I imagine they are going to be mobbed.
The government also wants to open up some public sports venues where people do not have to wear a mask. It should be, for example, sports grounds for cycling, running, in-line skates, skateboarding, tennis, shooting or canoeing. At the same time, however, facilities in the form of changing rooms or toilets would be closed in these areas.
However, stricter sanitary measures, such as a distance of two meters, rules for disinfecting or measuring the temperature of workers before each shift, will accompany the release.
It certainly looks like the Czech Republic might be the first country in the West to gradually come out of the lockdown, even beating Trump to it.
