The US is acting like stopping this disease, which only kills very unhealthy people is the be all and end all. No one going outside is the only way to do it.

Think I'm joking? On reddit, people talk about "self quarrantining" because a coworker of their kid's friend's mom's sister had coronavirus.
Californians love their big daddy government. Nothing will give them more comfort than to be directed around by benevolent daddy government.

What makes you think it's only the US? Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, Poland, Philippines, and a number of other countries already have lockdowns.
People act like it's all the media in the US driving this reaction. Iran and China have state-controlled media and they implemented lockdowns.

Only kills very unhealthy people: True!
Guess what else is true?
Over 70M obese people in US: True!
Over 13M 80+ years old in US: True!
Over 11M with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in US: True!
Once they clog up the hospitals anybody having a heart attack, stroke, cancer, etc. is put at much higher risk.

Yes, and China and Iran treat their uncooperative citizens as viruses and lock them down or exterminate them.

In Italy and other places in Europe you can still go running even if there is lockdown. Empty street, no tourists contaminating great views of historical landmarks, no need to press traffic light buttons with no traffic, plus you can run anytime now that you have to work from home.

I live in California. Please give me an example of ways our benevolent, big daddy government directs us.

In Madrid as of today, you can only leave your home to go to work, buy food, or collect essential medicines. No running there. It's expected to be the same in the Czech Republic very soon.
I actually got a few funny looks running along a very quiet river path today, as though I shouldn't be engaging in any sweaty activity in public.
Reddit is full of bugman weirdos who are looking for any excuse to stay inside and binge on hentai for 2 weeks.
I managed to fly back from the UK to the Czech Republic at the last minute yesterday. If I had left it a day later I would have to be isolated in my apartment for 2 weeks at pain of a $150,000 fine.
I was almost looking forward to it. I have some heavy dumbbells, resistance bands, and 5 flights of steps to run up and down in an apartment block which is virtually deserted now.
No taking the dog for a poop?
You're saying I should buy my Peloton now?

Hoping they can't shut down the Anytime Fitness.

I live in Santa Clara County with 91 confirmed cases. The only reason I even want to leave my house right now is to get groceries and to go running.
If they confine us, I will either get a treadmill, run in place in my back yard or jump rope for an hour. Good runners don’t let anything stop them. Stop being such a snowflake about something that hasn’t even happened.

Shut down at 7 tonight. Have to run outside now. Running the perimeter of my property is about 8 laps per mile if the gov puts everybody on lockdown.

I;m right with you. Well, proverbially speaking, that is.
But the likelihood of not being able to leave your house for a stroll or run is highly unlikely as far as i can tell. THough you never know, and if it does, I'll adapt. It would be bike on the trainer for me.
Setting up my home gym in a few minutes, in that the gov. closed all gyms effective today.
Life goes on, as you say.
