johnny drama clip was a joke, who would seriously screa that they 'aRe ThE GAmE!!!!'?
also, what is his car that someone mentioned?
yeah 25k is a lot for a guy that is likely not worth more than 400-500k--dollar amount of loss isn't very meaningful, but a big hit for Centro given he is in low-profile sport -look at "Sir" Charles Barkley lost 400k in markers (that the Wynn casino demanded repayment for in 2008) but as a proportion of his worth isn't a big amount maybe 1-2% given he is worth about 40 million from career earnings and his TNT gig...I hope Centro sticks to track or the $5 tables...

Yikes dude. Either you’re really envious and salty if his money or just an idiot. I’ll break it down for you real quick.
He went pro in 2011 and his contract after winning bronze was 400k a year for 6.5 years. He also got a silver in 2013 adding another 50k-75k rollover bonus to his base, that’s at least 450k a year for 6.5 years. Then you add in all the other bonuses, appearances and prize money. He wins 10k from USATF and often contracts match USATF prize $ so let’s say 20k per USATF win. He won 5 of those outdoors. He ran 3:30-34 every single year so there’s some time bonuses. He won a gold medal that was worth 500k a year rollover so he made 1M off that in 2016. He also won world indoors same year which was 60k prize money and who knows how much for a Nike bonus. He also wins diamond league money and appearance fees probably totaling over 50k a year. Not to mention he has won a ton of other events like JDL, grand blue mile, milrose etc. Then add in another 3 years at an even higher base (he’s probably at 500k now) for being an Olympic champ in the 1500m. Any guesses how much appearance money he brings in? I bet it’s pretty sweet.
All in all, my conservative estimate is he’s made over 5 MILLION DOLLARS in his career. Agent takes 15% typically. Taxes another 25%. He’s worth multiple millions of dollars, buddy. 25k is change to him. These are the rewards to being an American Olympic MF champion in a blue ribbon event like the 1500m.
Just rewards for the greatest American miler of all time (he has fastest born American 1500m time ever and 4 medals including only Olympic gold in modern American history so don’t try to debate this).
doping cheater
That's all nice but $5 million won't last long if someone is addicted to cards and is blowing $25,000 in 2 hours.
Sounds like you may know Centro. Try to help him get professional counselling.
Taxes are a whole lot more than 25%. He’s looking at 35% federal including SSI and another 10% or so state income tax depending on his state of residence. If he’s in Oregon, it will be all of 10%. Yes, he can afford to drop $25K one time, but he can’t afford to make a habit of doing so.
So if he’s grossed 5, he might have netted 3 and probably spent 1 living the last 5 years. Given that he’s either reaching or has reached the end of his big money days, he really can’t afford to keep living the baller lifestyle.
Plus he has a worthless "education" from a clown college and has a jerk personality - he'll be lucky to make minimum wages cleaning the toilet at Burger King once the PEDs wear off.
I heard Woody Kincaid also played and won $1,258. Is that true?
yeah if it's $25k in one go, I hope he gets some help. That's not pocket change even if you have $5m.
If I wanted, I could put together over 10k and go onto PokerStars and play at higher limit tables.
Pull a few bluffs, maybe double up. Maybe if I was lucky.
But not thanks, that's out of my budget right now.
25k is big money for a lot of people but for him he was comfortable gambling with that ammount.
Too bad he lost, he seems like a likable runner and I have nothing negative to say about him.
The thing is, he could have been making good plays yet still lost.
Yeah it is risky, but if you know what you're doing it is fine.

What an odd post. I don’t mean to diminish Centrowitz’s accomplishments in any way but I suspect a 5mm net worth is probably a bit ambitious. Moreover, even if he had a 5mm net worth a 25k hit in a game of poker is not “chump change”... it is roughly 12.5% of a responsible annual withdrawal against an aggressively invested 5mm portfolio for a retired person. Certainly not chump change.
It is pathetic that we are even having this conversation about one of the most decorated athletes in American track history. 25k SHOULD be chump change but sadly, as it stands, there are low level managers at FANGs with higher net worths at his age.

He'll always have 2016.
You mean sitting in a chair and making minimal.movement doesn't suit the lifestyle?

My annual "Who cares?" post.
Where are you pulling these numbers out from, no one has exact numbers on this as far as I know..

This is funny because it is true.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
