Not true AT ALL...... most people will compete at the shortest distance at which they can be successful

No, idiot. Most people will compete at the distance they are BEST at. Wariner is a 400m runner plain and simple.
Wariner could be successful at 200m, but he doesn't focus on it does he?
It is called sarcasm, jackass.

So by that logic, you have done everything you can in running by the age of, what 22-24? Nice. Who knows what the hell Tergat was thinking by running a marathon, I mean he should have already done it if he could.
what is the world marathon records?
For a midget?
Based on this, it can't be very fast.
Q: Are dwarfs able to participate in athletic activities?
A: Yes, within the limits of their individual medical diagnoses. For instance, swimming and bicycling are often recommended for people with skeletal dysplasias, since those activities do not put any pressure on the spine. Long-distance running or even extensive walking can be harmful because of the constant pounding, although, as a rule, healthy dwarf children without any unusual orthopedic problems should be allowed to engage in normal running-around.
Marathons hurt midgets.
Save the Midgets
this shit just crazy.
could Wariner beat webb at 1500m?
i bet you american bandwagon fans think he could.. so focus on the instant. your entire society is based on the the incessant need of 'the instant'.
He just told a journalist when he was asked about the 800m and 200m that he'd like to try the 200m in a couple years, but the 800m was too long. I suspect he'll do what his coach tells him to do, and if he can run sub 1:47 in the 800m, you may see him doing that.
Can someone inform me about Wariner's shoe-size, he got very big feet, 12.0-14.0?
Right now, Wariner's target is the 400 WR. If he gets there, you might tempt him with something else, but--from the time MJ broke 44, it took him 6 years to get the 400 WR.
If Wariner actually gets the WR, he might sense that 19.32 is a "little" out of sight and might be able to be talked into something different. But probably not until it's really too late for him in an 800.

juantorena, alberto...400/800 double, it been done before...if anyone in the 400 could do it, I would bet that it would be wariner, even moreso than MJ
As MJ said when asked about the 800, "Not a chance, In case you haven't noticed I can only realy run 300 meters."
Right now Warner couldn't break 2:00. With training, maybe 1:45-50. Warner is a sprinter, the 800 isn't a sprint. Go to your local book store or library and pick up and exercise physiology book..:)

Okay, I mean now this is getting out of hand. Couldn't break 2? I'm a running BUM. Absolutely horrible, and I ran 2:03 for an 800 in my heyday. Get real Alan. He could run sub and and stop to take a crap.

Wariner could break 2:00 easily
The 600 meters is the toughest race....and you're all a bunch of pansies !!

Is it just me, or could this skinny white boy go sub 1:40?
Wariner could probably approach 1:40 if he trained of the 800.
Even if JW kept his 44 flat speed, he would have to have at least 3:35 1500 endurance to get near the world record. I can not see that happening. I'd say 1:48ish off a little training and 1:44 high at best if he trained for it, even that is hard to see.
Why would you even run the 800 when your goal is to be the first man under 43 sec?
The first person to break 1:40 will need 46 flat 400 speed and 3:28 1500 endurance.
Please do not tell me that ElG can run 46 point. He'd be 48 high at best.
Webb ran 47-48 in high school, you dont think that El G can run a 48?! HAHA
What could Sanya Richards run in the 800. I mean, she'd have 10 seconds to give off of her pr to run 59's. That's much easier than wariner dropping 7 secs. right??? Hell, even if she ran 8 secs slower she'd still be at 57's, that should be a jog right??? Easily a 1:54 girl for sure!!!
Yes....it's sarcasm
Since Wariner ran for Baylor, I suppose this thread is just an offshoot of that thread asking how fast a bear could run for 800.
Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
Post about women banditing Brooklyn half marathon going viral on X
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
