Other than the Procrit reference by 16x at the top, I don't see any accusation of drug use nor male chauvinism. I would loved to know her secret. How does one stay at the very top of the elite scene for 28-30 years? How does one acclimate to running that much mileage, 3-4 marathons a year, a huge number of high level races, some only days after a marathon, all at the age of 48? How is it that this woman has us throw out the books on recovery, the aging process, etc? I won't say it's drugs, although she has been caught cheating before. But someone needs to do a study on this miracle of physiology and let the rest of us know what's going on.
Don't give me that bullshit that it's hard work. Science tells us that age is a factor. In Regina's case the age is 39 and no adverse reactions, here it's 48. Troncoso, Wysocki, Somers Smith, Joyce, Welch, Smith, Binder,Moller, McLatchie and others have tried to sustain their levels beyond their early 40's and have not been able to do so. AS a coach of a number of successful master's athletes, I'd like to know how to crack the code.
