So New Balance has their prototype Carbon Spikes for sale on their website. Yes for real, only they don’t. They are sold out so they claim. I called New Balance and asked when they went up as no one has heard anything and also when they would be available again and they replied with;
The shoes went up at midnight a few weeks ago and sold out within the hour.
(Wow you would have to have some inside info to know they were going up and since there hasn’t been a single thing discussed one would assume an inside job by NB)
The restocking of the shoe will be late August per Nee Balance
(Wow so not till the olympics are over. That means no chance of getting them for college outdoor or masters outdoor)
So new balance presumably put the shoes up, had individuals buy said shoes at that time and date at Midnight without anyone’s knowledge and sold them all quickly so that actual people can’t get them till after the Olympics.
This made them in compliance with the 4 month rule on shoes being reasonably available and keeps them out of anyone’s hands but New balance employees. This is the scummy move I expect to see from Nike but New Balance beat them to it.
