She qualifies in literally any other top marathon running shoe. Those Brooks are turds.

4th = karma
She ran well but her tactics always involve waiting for the front runners to falter. She had much more in the tank than Kipyego but that doesn't matter......wish she had pushed it earlier.....

That was the old Des. She has a new Coach with a new way of racing. More speed and less grinding. When I saw Molly Seidel take the lead and start grinding at 22 miles I thought that is what the old Des would have done.
Des is all that is good and right about marathoning
Did a 4th place finish warrant a big crushing hug from Josh?
Does everyone agree that she would be on the team if she had worn the Next% or Alphaflys?
Interesting question. I'm not inclined to say yes. She looked beaten by Kipyego. She wasn't gonna make up 10 seconds in the last 400m against someone with Kipyego's track speed.

Yes this idea that “speed” will help you in a marathon makes no sense. Speed is developed so you can lay down a fast last quarter in a 10k. In a marathon the extreme length combined with glycogen depletion makes that all obsolete. In a thon your “last lap” is a 10k with your muscles tearing apart because the previous 20 miles depleted your glycogen. Marathon training is big mileage and big tempos.

I'm confused & wrong about everything? Dude, save yourself some embarrassment. It's 2020. These message boards are far from how people actually think about things like this. The reaction to Des finishing 4th cannot be some white guy chiming in that "2 Kenyans" will be busted. That's awful and you need to recognize that.
"It's the current year" Is not an argument.

Which, sadly, aren't as good as the patented tech Nike has.
Brooks is in a tough place. Des Linden is their #1 most marketable athlete but she does not believe in there product. She will do her best to say all of the right things publicly, but privately she has been bashing the product. Everyone in the industry knows that it is just a financial partnership.
