She is one tough runner, 8 sec off another Olympic team. No shame in that race- she was the only one of the “ big 5” to show

Great performance by Des. Gutted she was outside the top 3. She is one tough lady! Major kudos!
She deserves better shoes.
It truly sucks she is forced to wear the Hyperion - she’d have placed in the Nike’s.
To all the haters who said she would just phone it in because she is doing Boston, Desi has never given less than her best in any race. It will be interesting to see how many other US non-qualifiers will do Boston.
This course was made for her..but for a pair of shoes.....
I think Molly is our new Des

She was rockin' some prototype Brooks today.

2 Kenyans finished before her, it's extremely likely that one of the them will be busted the next weeks.
Go spew hatred somewhere else. This is a Des appreciation thread. She's a baller who ran a gutsy race. The two other women are more American than you'll ever be.
She paced it well and was really hoping she could reel in Kipyago.
Major props to her.
I thought she was magnificent. And I found her "losing" reaction more glorious than than most "winners" I have seen. She personifies an heroic athlete .
Honestly thought she was going to reel in Kipyego, which would have made for a classic Des finish. I picked her 3rd because I thought she would do just that on the type of tough course she excels in. Just missed it but still a good race.
You can see her run with her heart even when it’s not world beating.
Showed class at the finish line.
We love you Des
Des is amazing! Full of grit, try, and toughness. She keeps grinding and never gives up! I love and admire you Des!
I agree. I always think she's already run her last good marathon, and this next one is going to be ugly. But then she always delivers a great performance. The truth is, she is just a danged good marathon racer.

You are so confused and wrong about everything.

She is the female Meb.
4th place would probably get her listed as the first alternate for the team, should one of the top 3 be unable to compete. You never know what will happen.

I'm confused & wrong about everything? Dude, save yourself some embarrassment. It's 2020. These message boards are far from how people actually think about things like this. The reaction to Des finishing 4th cannot be some white guy chiming in that "2 Kenyans" will be busted. That's awful and you need to recognize that.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
