I’m going with D2 legend, from the Colorado School of Mines, Andrew Epperson (2:13:11) and Dakota Lindwurm from Northern State University (2:32:49).

Tyler Pennel
Nathan Martin of Spring Arbor University
Definitely Noah Droddy..
Shouldn't the question be who is the first non D1 or D2. I'm interested in the non scholarship or non college runners.
Droddy has dropped. But had he not he was the clear choice
Was unaware, that sucks..

Kieran O’Connor placed 24th in 2016. Didn’t run in college, only started running as a post-college adult. PR’s aren’t too impressive, but he’s a grinder and the topography in Atlanta will suit him.
Julia Kohnen is good bet on the women's side. Ran a 2:31 last fall. Played soccer in college.
You would be shocked at how fast some non-scholarship D1 guys are. I am aware of 2 that ran sub 14 in college this year.

My pick. Former NAIA runner. Top 10 is my prediction.
Tyler Pence! Check out his training on STRAVA. Dude is ready to roll!
JJ Santana. Ran 1 year in Juco, 1 year in high school, just trail races since.
2:17:15 debut at CIM for 10th, with stronger workouts since.
Tyler Pence, Julia Kohnen. University of Southern Indiana alums.
DII legend?

I am seeing 2 DII XC All-americans (29tha dn 13th), none in track. His 2:13 marathon is very impressive though.
