Really solid work, stat. Always interested to hear how the race unfolded.

Yes. Beast. But we knew that already. Nice work, my friend.
From my vantage point...
- Started out in the middle of the pack
- Made a BIG move on his 5th lap to move up to 2nd (Might have even taken over first place for a few meters)
- Held strong the rest of the way
Thanks guys! I'm happy with this as a step forward more than anything. The time was about where I thought I was, but I felt really strong so I think there's another big jump there. I felt really strong through 800 and like we were chilling, which we were at 2:06. Kept looking up and seeing the race was pretty crowded though so I kept waiting and told myself to be patient until 800. The winner moved there and I got out of the box and around to 2nd at 1k. Thought things were set up perfectly for me to chase him down over the last 600 and run really quick, but I couldn't quite find the next gear. Fought a few challenges off in the last 300 which I was proud of, and I know that last gear is going to come. For now I'm happy with my 59.99 close, but when I'm at my best I should be closing in 57-58 and 1:56-57 off a slower opening 800 like this one.
Major takeaway is that I think I'm in PR shape in a race that's a little quicker up front, and I haven't been in that position in February for a while. Now I need to train hard for the next 6-8 weeks and then get back on the track and start chasing some even faster times.
Congrats Stat! Amazing racing.
Awesome race stat. Big things to come in the spring season... I agree with you. Well done. Enjoy the rest of the meet!
Way to go, Stat!
Cool race makes me wistful for my own BU exploits. That track is magical
Solid running, Stat.
Great job Stat!!!!
That’s some good early season results stat!
I’m thinking about doing a mile block of training when I get my easy mileage up and get my mojo back (which has been lacking). Decent mile road race a couple hours away in June. 19 people under 5 las year and winner 4:12.
Boots on the MF ground in Atl. Here’s what the elevation profile looks like. All I can say is good luck with that.
Just echoing the choir, but great job, Stat!
