US #3 all time indoors!
US #3 all time indoors!
didn't she run 15:01 in seattle indoors back in 2010?
Setting big PRs at age 33 - and lots of more things to come!
Great run. Pumped for Jenny
Please show evidence that Jenny works with Dr. Brown. She visited him once and didn't like or trust him. Nor did the Gouchers. Dr. Brown was originally referred to Mark Wetmore by Andy Martin.
So please show us where Jenny is still working with Dr. Brown or has in the past, other than the initial consultation, which went nowhere.
Way to go Jenny!!!

Fast forward to 5:05. She even elaborates that she believe athletes shouldn't have to declare their substances, without being asked about that specifically. She is 100% taking drugs (TUEs) for performance enhancement.
https://youtu.be/8tUUcYraRkwGreat run for Jenny Simpson. She has much more potential at 5000m outdoors than she has shown in the past, given her 8:29 3k.

That is impressive for this time of year ??
She would have been the USA GOAT at 5k - way better than Molly. But she would never have won any international medals at the distance.

Well, she says they shouldn’t have to say what their declared (TUEs) are and goes on about a right to privacy. I don’t think anyone would argue against a person’s right to privacy about their medical records as a starting principle, but when your “medical condition” allows you to use a banned substance and you want to run competitively an athlete needs to accept that comes with a partial loss of that right to privacy. If you don’t want to reveal your need to take a banned substance, don’t compete. I have no opinion on if she’s taking any drugs, I just disagree with her and think athletes should have to disclose if they have any TUEs if they want to take those drugs and compete.
Yes after ten years training as a professional athlete she's improved 3 seconds on the time she ran as an amateur. Pretty suspicious.
In all reality she hasn't put a lot of focus on the 5k through her career other than a couple of random meets during base training. Now that she is older, one would expect that she might do the 5K since she doesn't have the wheels for the 1500 on the international stage.
If Rupp is willing to publicize his TUE's, then Jenny can publicize hers
My initial thought was "PED" but then I did some investigating and she's still only 33 and has improved at this distance by just a few seconds over the past ~ decade, and is not dramatically faster than other competitors at this distance I think are clean. I say clean or at least clean-enough.

She ran 3:58 just 4 months ago and she beat Purrier at 5th Avenue. I don't see anything suspicious about this particular performance. I would love to see her in the steeple this year but I know if won't happen.
Congrats to her! Is she Kenyan? I’m guessing her birthdate is off by at least 10 years (43 y/o). She’s fast though!

I'll take Shannon rowbury or houlihan over both at 5k
Great run but our sport is so silly. I know she wanted the Worlds standard but she goes and runs a race with no prize money while USA Indoors are happening. Just set up a time trial another weekend. & same with Infeld she ran a 3k a UW. I know she's coming back from injury but she could have been with the rest of her teammates too.
Your comments about Infeld at least are stupid. Why would a coach put an athlete in a national championship in her first track race in 2 years? Infeld said Jerry told her to go out controlled the first 2k and bring it home the last 1k. Tough to do in a championship race. For mental and physical reasons it would be dumb to put her in USA indoors.
