Anyone listening to the podcast on Touhy and Cain... What did you guys think of the discussion?
I think Tuohy is smart to run the way She usually does at local meets
. If she runs in the pack, she could get tripped. Obviously, she'll have to run in a pack in college, but those will be with more experienced Runners. Why take the chance at a local meet with potentially inexperienced runners!
It's winter and cold in New York. . Not sure what the setup is at the Armory if they have treadmills and a way for the athletes to cool down.
But if you think about it running fast and then cooling down. On the last several laps in a race where she has no competition. Seem smarter than starting slow and then finishing fast and then where's she going to cool down in the winter in New York City?
Also seems like if you're having a full weekend of running and you know, you're going to do three events. Why would you try to kill yourself in one by running real fast
Wouldn't even pacing make more sense.
In other news....
Zofia Dudek looking real strong at the 800. Is she going to focus on? Shorter distances this track season? More 800 1600?
Other than that starliper hit pretty fast 2 Mile in the 1020's, but so far the biggest effort was probably Brynn Brown. Running at 10:07 2 Mile early in the season
All right curious to see what X the best distance runners will be putting up over the next couple of months. Anyone else see any news?
