The public mid-majors as a group are much worse academically than P5s. So go to Illinois or Northern Illinois? No comparison. But you still can't provide any evidence to back up your feeling. That is all it is because there are no more foreigners at mid-majors than at P5s. So you are at a crappy mid-major and losing recruits to your P5? Check the average ACT scores of the 2 schools. You will see why US kids bypass your school.
Mid majors don’t lose athletes because of academics, if anything we gain recruits because of academics/admissions standards. Your argument speaks to the minority, but is valid to that small group. Truth be told it’s no skin off the mid major, as foreign runners are typically better at handling the rigors of being a student-athlete and will pan out better over the course of their career. Again, this was a response to someone who said domestic athletes should get the scholarship money and foreign athletes should stay in their own country. So i am completely fine with the domestic kid making their decision to go p5, half of them end up in the transfer portal and go to mid majors for less than they would have received out of high school anyway.
