The 2020 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon are this weekend. Each year, Houston always gets road racing in America off to a good start and with the US Olympic Marathon Trials just six weeks away, that's truer than ever this year.

Not to mention I’m running the half. Thinking this is finally the race I shatter the 1:40 barrier!! My coach thinks I have a great shot at it so I’m pretty excited!

Happy to see James Ngandu in the elite section of the half this year. Was 9th last year despite not getting in with the elites. Should be interesting.
He's running the RnR Arizona Half this weekend.
Temps will be perfect, but wind might be a factor. NE at 10-20 will be in the runner's faces for the second half of the half marathon.
I think the US women's field in the half will be pretty dull. Huddle will probably cruise to a win in just under 69. Hall and Aliphine have never been very strong at the half. They are much better over the full. It would have been a great if Sisson and Hasay were healthy and racing.
On the men's side, Jared Ward would have to be the favorite just because he is Mr. Consistency. Otherwise, I am not sure we will see any big breakouts. I would expect Ward to win with just under 62 and a group of 5-6 guys in the mid 62s.
Is there a way to watch the half marathon and/or the marathon on-line?
At the elite meeting we heard that Allie Kieffer will be 'helping out' as the 2:29.30 pace group for women. I can't see any way in which this will be successful.

It will be helpful that AK gets a nice race pace workout in. How far will she go? 30k?

Thank goodness they've got the Rice track coach helping commentate. The local newswoman has already uttered gems like "tennis shoes" and "qualify for the Olympics".
