Im in 11th grade and I’m kindve moving toward self coaching. The coach I have isnt absolutely terrible butt I feel as if they don’t understand aerobic capacity and aerobic training. I’m an 800/1600m runner my prs are 5:03 mile 10:34 3k 19:21 5k (on a tough course)Last track season we did alot of anaerobic workouts and mostly intervals we rarely went on any type of runs. I finished the year running 5:07 in the 1600 and 2:16 in the 800 but my 3200 time was absolutely terrible compared to people that had similar mile times. I ran a 11:52. Because we aren’t getting the correct aerobic training I’ve been running more miles and not practicing with the team this indoor szn I’ve ran 5:03 in the mile and 10:34 *think i can run faster in the 3k.
My current plan was
monday- intervals with my coach
tuesday- long run
wendesday-easy run
thursday-tempo run
friday- off
saturday race
sunday- easy run
but within the last two weeks I’ve switched to
monday- intervals or some type of workout 4-6x 1k, maximal velocity, 400 repeats etc
tuesday- easy run 5-6 mi
wednesday- long run 4 mi warmup 20 min tempo 3 mi cooldown
thursday- easy run 4-6 miles *try to get on easy surfaces
friday- easy run 30 min
saturday- race
sunday- off
I’m open to any constructive criticism or help I can receive I just want to get better and I don’t believe doing only intervals will make me better. btw my tempos seem to keep being 6:45 pace acccording to my forerunner 35 my phone says 6:33?♂️
Also if you know any good training plans I’m open to that
I want to be able to run the 800-3200m but the 1600 is my main race
