Hey, I am a guy at like 5' - 7", and into my early 60s, and here's my take.
Being short wasn't exactly the easiest route growing up, but it doesn't mean jack compared to the animosity and disfavor you will probably get from other things out of your control. By that i mean if you are of a minority religion, or a racial minority, or perhaps LGBT, or other things that are largely out of your control. I happen to fall into one of these and growing up in a small town, that was tough. And i mean tough that will make you forget what height you are.
It's always something. Don't let other people's expectations or shortcomings define you. I would suspect that most of us have something they would change if they could, and maybe sensing that that is the case, and consequently treating others as you would like to be treated is the point we should gather from all this.
