So:
This D2 school has very good academics, and my grades are enough to get me about a half ride by themselves. They don't have a great running program, but it's one of the only ones that would be a good fit for me. (3.4 GPA with lots of AP and concurrent and 31 ACT)
I'm a middle distance guy that wasn't bad at cross country, and these are how my PR's would stack up.
1:58/800m I would be tied for the fastest of all the guys that ran last year, and the fastest one just graduated. They haven't picked up anyone faster than that, and so far their fastest indoor mark is 2:07
4:37/1600m would be the 3rd fastest mark on the team, same guy is one of the guys that would beat me. Their fastest miler is the record holder right now with a 4:19
10:09/3200m. Faster overall pace than all of the 3K steeple guys and I would be top 4 in the 3000m.
I have a 16:38 for XC, but time converted to 8K-10K I would be the 3rd or 4th scorer. They regularly have guys that don't go under 40 in the 10K, which I regularly hit on long runs with 4-6 extra miles to go.
I've emailed the distance coach twice, the MD coach twice, and the head coach once. What do you think the deal is? I've been polite, and I've only listed my PBs and asked what standards I need to hit to have an opportunity to run on the team, no scholarship money.
