Are there any competitive runners on here (sub 15 5k, 71ish half marathon, sub 230 marathon) that smoke weed regularly? Don’t really drink much and it’s my stress relief plus I really enjoy it. Am I really inhibiting my potential performances? Thanks!

14:53/1:10/2:25 for me and I smoke 0.1-0.2g of the “good stuff” (~25% THC) every night. -
What about vonsumption method? How does everyone thing joint/vape/bong stack up? I have been vaping herb, but that doesn't always feel great on my throat/lungs the next morning.

Oh good. This thread again. A great opportunity to hear details from people who really aren’t that interesting.

Just bake edibles. You can make weed infused peanut butter in around 90-120 min. Decarb ground weed for 40 minutes, and then mix into peanut butter in a baking pan and bake for 60-90 mins. Simple, and it offers a far smoother and longer lasting high than smoking. ground dry Just use it on toast whenever you feel the need for stress relief. Carry a jar of it round as medicine. You don’t need to irritate your pulmonary system, which is exactly what smoking of any kind does (even vaping).

You do know that THC is banned in competition which means if you test positive during a competition you have violated the rules.

He knows that. He just wants us to know how woke he is. -

+1
Stop trying to rationalize/validate your need to avoid reality. This coming from a recovering addict. -

"Carry a jar round of it as medicine."
Seriously, WTF? -
I don't smoke marijuana by itself, but do vape some cbd oil via Airis Tick (special oil vaporizer https://gypsyvapes.com/airis-tick-vaporizer ). As for me, weed and cannabidiol in general provide with very strong relaxing effect, it is not good for running but perfect after any physical practice, relieves pains in bones and muscles.

This one again? Still waiting for someone to persuasively argue that inhaling smoke into the lungs increases cardiovascular efficiency and enhances running performance.

I don't smoke marijuana, but I do take cbd gummies, as I have very frequent panic attacks and cbd helps me deal with it. I take them every day and can assure you that it has not affected my sports routine or results in any way. I think I'm even better than I was before. However, it is very important not to make a mistake and not get on the cue. It is important that the product is original and of high quality. For example I only buy from https://1800purecbd.com/product/illuminati-delta-8-thc-gummy-bears-500mg/ and I can be sure of them

Obviously smoking is bad for your lungs. That doesn't mean that a thc high can't stimulate greater energy output, similar to a caffeine high. Also I'm not convinced that a dry herb vape is bad for the lungs.

I combined running with smoking marijuana earlier when I used weed, but now I don't smoke anymore. Why did I refuse it? It's safe, but it doesn't suit my body. I preferred CBD because they are less active in affecting the body. For me https://cbdflowerusa.com/does-cbd-oil-smell-like-weed/ became a decisive factor in choosing the method of cannabis use. First of all, this oil does not leave visible traces of its use, such as marijuana (it has a pronounced aroma and a strong influence on the mind, thinking of a person). If you choose between CBD oil and weed when combined with running, I definitely prefer the first option

I don’t do it often and I’m not a competitive runner, but edible gummies in low dose can be pretty effective for anxiety and sleep issues.
I do know that plenty of pro basketball and football players smoke or use some other form of THC and perform at the highest level.
THC in my experience is less addictive than other drugs or even alcohol. In moderation, you should be fine. -
I take a few hits of the pen before running & it’s been one of my staple recovery routines. Makes runs go by quicker & I don’t feel that much stress on my body afterwards. Before long runs, I get pretty stoned & warmup, stretch, & do drills prior to running to really focus on activating my muscles.
I used to do workouts high too but it made my heart rate spike. Especially the sub 5 pace workouts. Anything uptempo & progressive is completely fine! I enjoy hybrid sativa raw garden cartridges. -
I only smoke other runners. Never Weed. For most of us, running is more than sufficient in terms of stress relief. You need to find a better way of coping. Get high on life my friend, not drugs.

Yes running is probably the best stress relief tool. Forces you to engage in deep, relaxed and natural breathing while making you tired but also feeling better afterwards so any negative thoughts will be less relevant or nonexistent. Alcohol and weed will make you more stressed and nervous once the quick high wears off.
