Times have changed, the only men under 25 I ever see in a suit anymore are hockey players. Those mulleted Canadians still get it.
back in the day, Villanova coach Jumbo Elliott used to wear a suit, as did a few other coaches, esp. To meets in Madison Square Garden.

the guys driving the limo/service car wear suits, but the guys riding in the back do not

A lot of track coaches in high positions don’t take their appearance seriously enough.
