Having 204 kids on the team is pretty gushy too. There's a lot of depth to work with there.
FAKE NEWS!
The Jeff Bezos Amazon Failing Washington Post is fake news!
Sad.
This is a rather arrogant and totally inaccurate statement by Marc Hunter in the article: “The fact that you’re moving your family because the program is good, I’m not sure if I would do that as a parent, but every kid has been successful,” he said.
If I were a transfer running slower than I had at my previous school, I would be frustrated reading that statement. There are several who have simply not panned out. They have been injured, slower, plateaued, or simply not making the varsity 7.

It’s not for everybody. Sounds like it’s not for you. Don’t move there.

Would you like to give examples?? Making statements without information, is a little misleading.
That would mean you know all the transfers and the circumstances that surround their performances.
I believe you are just another hater that is taking a shot at the Hunters and the Loudoun Valley program.
The Hunters are incredible people, and coaches, who love kids. In my opinion people are way out of line when accusing them of recruiting. That being said, there are a lot of great coaches out there who would be just as successful with the talent they have. Or close to it at the very least (just my opinion). Every year they get a new kid, or multiple kids, from all over who have run fast at a different school. I think most coaches aren't jealous of LVHS, but it is annoying to see your team doing well and then fall apart because of kids transferring out when you put so much time and energy into it as a coach. Some of those kids come from successful programs too, or programs that were on the brink of being successful. Is it such a crime to want to coach your own kids that you helped developed?
The real people to blame are these crazy rich Northern VA parents who move to the Purcellville "for family reasons" but in reality they just don't want to look like "those parents" but they are. Unfortunately there all over Northern VA and are the worst kind of people. Congrats, your kid won a state and national champion because you bought it for them lol. All you NOVA Karens and Kens out there need to cut the emebllical chord.
Would you care to elaborate? If you don't have the data to back it up, I'd say your statement is the arrogant and inaccurate one. From what I have seen making the top 7 of another team and making Loudoun's top 7 are very different.

Allison P, you're a disgustingly immoral backstabber. Making claims and not providing even an ounce of evidence. Hey, people, Allison P is an axe murderer who owes Uncle Sam $5.4 million in back taxes. Has orange hair. Bad breath. Sells crack to kindergarteners. Is very popular with a select few naughty priests in the Catholic church. Was once DQ'd from the LA Marathon for pulling a Rosie Ruiz.
But I won't provide evidence, in the spirit of Allison P on this message board! Nevertheless, because I said it, it must be true, right?
Go crawl under your rock and stay there, Allison P.
Meanwhile, good luck to the Hunters.
The idea that the Hunters don't recruit is BS. They can deny it all they want, but it's easy to see the truth.
It's ridiculous to have 120 men on the cross country team and 84 women on the cross country team.
It's beyond weird and at a whole new level if recruiting is going on to attract runners to a HS X team. It's HS. We're talking HS. It's X. We're talking X. Kids need to focus on school - the education part and not the athletic part.
Wow that's a lot. But it is a popular sport in Loudoun. Most schools in Loudoun have 100+ kids tryout for their teams. The athletic dept either limits the numbers, or coaches simply don't want to work with that many athletes, and make cuts. I believe the LV doesn't cut kids unless numbers insanely ridiculous.
I agree. But I think if you ask a lot of teachers/coaches, they will tell you that parents are more likely to make more of a fuss over athletics than academics. #merica
My team had over 100 runners for 3 years while I was there. Big drop off to 70 my senior year tho. I think we peaked at 124 kids on the boys team alone and my school was a little bigger that LV. No where near as much success tho
Green Hope had 145 boys in 2017
Time to weigh in on Union Catholic transfers?
