I ran the Turkey Trot 10k exactly 5 weeks and 1 day from laparoscopic hernia surgery. The Dr cleared me to run, but couldn't guarantee how fast I would be.

Smoking fast!
If this is a real story (this is LR )
1. Congratulations!!
2. I hope you don't have any lingering injuries. Being hit by a car can(it happened to me too) cause some odd core issues that are may mess up gait, leading to injuries.
3. Sue the F out of the driver!!
Below Average, Phil Richert won his turkey trot 5 k in a course record 15:28 !!!
17:57 5k with the lead vehicle skipping a turn and had to back track for a total of an extra 150 meters. The winner probably ran an extra 300 meters.
100% true. Right now I'm just very scraped up, feels like I have rug burn all down my right side. I did manage to run easy today though with no problems. I filed a police report, so we shall see what comes of it after the township gets back to me with information.
15:30 FTW. Slow time for me, 24:48 8k PR. Just fun to be back in town!
I’ve been tapering for about three years. It really paid off was 44th in my Turkey Trot out of 5400.
Ran 18:03 for 3.18 mile course. All five of my friends garmins said race was 3.16 to 3.18 miles in distance. Race organizers had the start/finish at the same spot to keep the course simple I guess. but obv it was lengthened past a true 5k. I’m mad as hell. Next time wearing vaporflys to ensure the sub 18.
Here in Central Arkansas, the local turkey trot is 24 hours, donations accepted but pete won’t take more than a twenty. Kind of like every race used to be.
3 miles jogging plus another 50 miles walking. A good blow!
That is amazing! So glad you’re ok. I imagine the police will have no trouble finding the perp, since everyone knows where the house was.
1st out of around 5000. Hoping for good competition to sneak under 15 minutes so braved the cold weather. Think I would've had it if there was someone to run with the last mile. Nasty headwind too.
Thanks for all the replies, fun to read through! Those Dana Point and Buffalo races are no joke. And some of the masters times being posted are pretty incredible.
I ran my first race almost 6 years (sports hernia surgery at 30yo). 16:50 5K for 3rd....including a 6:05 second mile because the genius race director decided to start the 10K (ran on the same course) just 15 minutes before the 5K. Dodging all the dogs, strollers, and kids was like a cross country race from hell. Gobble gobble.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
